Paris & the Mediterranean:
Paris, Juan-Les-Pins, Nice, Eze, Monaco
Dates of travel: June 11-21, 2010
Based on
double occupancy. Supplement for single room occupancy.
Day one: Today is a travel day…Transatlantic flight to Paris.
Meals provided on board.
Day two: Arrive in Paris at mid-day.
Transfer to the heart of the city. Neighborhood orientation. Are you ready
for a three- hour walking tour of the city center? We’ll stroll along the Seine River
to Notre Dame, the Pompidou
Center, l’Hotel de Ville…What a day!
Day three: After breakfast, we’ll
take the subway to go to the Louvre
Museum. Afternoon
walk through the Tuileries gardens, place de la
Concorde, Champs Elysees, all the way to l’Arc de Triomphe. Today is a day filled with architecture,
art, history….a little fashion, and some people watching: a favorite pastime
of French people.
Day four: Early wake up call as
today we’re going to let the high- speed train whisk us away to the sunny Mediterranean. We’ll arrive in Juan les Pins, our
home base by the sea, early afternoon. Neighborhood orientation, and
then in the evening we’ll go to Monaco, and roam through the old principality
with its narrow lanes, impeccably kept streets, church & parks…A stop at
the royal palace is a must, one never knows who we will meet there.
Day five: Today we’ll head for
the hills. The train will take us to Eze-sur-Mer,
and then we’ll walk up to Eze via the goat path. If
you prefer a more leisurely trek up the mountain-top you can take the local
bus. Delicious views all around with turquoise water below and the hills
around us. Enjoy the beauty. We’ll stroll through the narrow
stone lanes & staircases of Eze, a lovely
medieval village carved in the rock. In the afternoon we’ll visit the
Fragonard perfume factory, and in the evening we’ll return to Juan-les-Pins
for some relaxing beach time.
Day six: Day trip to Nice with
its colorful flower market. Mix with the locals, sample market foods
and stroll by the seashore on Promenade des Anglais.

Day
seven: Escapade to Antibes. Juan-les Pins’
sister city. Walk along the
Mediterranean shore and explore this lovely city: site of the yearly Jazz
festival. Visit of the Picasso museum,
pottery and glass blower’s shops. Soak in the local color and crafts.
Day
eight: Free day…For those who wish for scheduled activity, we can go to
the Vintemillia market in Italy…Fun, close by, on
the sea shore…
Day
nine: Return to Paris
via the High speed train. Afternoon visit of the Orsay
museum. This renovated train station will become your favorite Parisian
museum. Evening in the Luxembourg
gardens, and dinner time on the Left Bank.

Day
ten: We’ll go to Sacre-Coeur church in the Montmartre area and Painters’ square. Enjoy the
color & charm of this typical Parisian neighborhood. In the evening,
we’ll go to the Eiffel
Tower and be charmed by
its evening magic. We see her twinkle like a Christmas tree .
Day eleven: It’s time to enjoy your last Café au lait
and croissants, and pack your suitcase. Departure from Charles de
Gaulle airport and return home… Au revoir Paris!
